The Kaleidoscope Miners examines the queer ecology of the Prairie Crocus flower, also known as the gosling plant or the windflower. This series uses the cyanotype process, a photographic printing process that produces a print by exposing chemicals on fabric to sunlight. The print is then rinsed with water, revealing the final image. The need for light and water to create the cyanotype references the life cycle of plants. The Prairie Crocus is explored as a symbol of queer ecology due to its transformative physical changes and the language that botanists use to describe it, as it possesses both stamens and carpels.

In some instances, the cyanotypes on fabric in this series have been sewn into larger sculptural constructions. In doing so, they allude to queer flag-making, banners, and festive decorations. Using fabric allows these images to be explored as tactile, malleable objects. The fabric's natural movement and response to air currents are critical to the banner-making process.

In addition to exploring themes of queer ecology and celebration, the project aims to draw attention to the labour of women and queer femmes by utilizing embroidery, quilt making, and sewing to create various textile works. The work explores textiles as objects that convey joy, comfort and pride. The series expands upon the artist's practice by investigating fluidity and transformation.
